JSAR is a publication of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy's Research Program. Throughout their four-year research curriculum, Flintridge Sacred Heart students develop increasing depth and expertise in the practice of research. As seniors, all students participate in a Senior Seminar, pursuing research guided by their interest, mentors and social justice. JSAR highlights this research by publishing the products of the year long Senior Seminar written entirely by students.

JSAR is open to the public to provide prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, and the press a view into the quality student research experience at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. The journal also gives students experience with the publishing process and a platform to make their research available to future researchers for review.

JSAR is open access, with all papers published under **Creative Commons** license. All work can be reused with attribution.
